I'm not familiar with the plugin, but it's likely a plugin development/design flaw/bug/intention of the Advanced Sermons plugin. Many times freemium plugins will not properly register custom post types (per WordPress standards) intentionally. This way they can sell upgrades, lock you into their system, etc.

Most likely, you need to contact the Advanced Sermons developers to address this type of issue.
