I remember MailPoet telling us that sending multiple emails without consent might not be allowed according to GDPR...
But I think we need to differentiate two cases:
- A) The user opened the confirmation mail and actively decided to not click the link. In this case, I'm fine to not send a confirmation reminder.
- B) The confirmation email was not opened but was trashed, forgotten, ended in spam, did arrive too late, etc. In that case, I would like to resend the confirmation email once, after a variable duration to give the subscriber a second chance to complete the subscription.
Since MailPoet tracks email openings, it should be possible to address group B and not remind people who already opened the first email.
