- the ability to save a template after making changes to it (instead of saving a new one every time)
- ability to 'favorite' a template and have it appear at the top of the 'choose your template' page
- ability to hide or remove other templates so users don't choose to make off-brand emails

So excited to see this is in progress. Here are my thoughts.
-I generally create one, sometimes two or three templates for each site I create so my customers can have branded emails.
-Most of the built in templates are of little use. I usually pick a simple text one as a starter, or import my own.
-When clicking New Email -> Create Newsletter, the user should land on the "saved template" tab, rather than "recently sent". My customers are selecting recent emails rather than the templates I built for them, and it gets messy.
-removing the "recently sent" from the creation page would make sense. This way users can use templates as they are intended. Or atleast change it so it is not the first/default tab.
- Also improving the edit/creation process as others have mentioned is very important.

The site that I'm using MailPoet on is for an organization of retirees from a local utility company. They have a group of volunteers who manage the content, including newsletters, for their various local branches. These are non-technical people, so I've tried to "clean up" the admin area to be as limited and easy as possible for them to manage things without getting overwhelmed. Part of that has been to remove all of the built-in templates that come with MP, and hide some of the tabs to try and streamline things. My main issue is that the interface doesn't provide unique classes on many of the elements, which makes hiding parts of it difficult, and that every time the plugin gets updated, it adds back all of the built-in templates, which I then have to go in to the db and delete manually.
Being able to edit an existing template without having to create a new email is very important.

Tautvidas: Hey! thanks for asking, here are my thoughts:
- I usually create just one template per business, which included most of the modules. I then erase and move modules around as needed
- I get frustrated that I can not edit the template once it is saved, so I need to erase it and create a new one
- I also find frustrating not being able to create a template from the Automations section, only from the Email section

Tautvidas: I'm glad to hear MP is investing time into improving the templates. I reread my original suggestions at the top of this suggestion and think they are still very clear and relevant.

Tautvidas: Right now, I use 1-2 templates and like most folks here, I think the editing of templates is my biggest frustration (at least with the template system). Having to create a new email to edit or view a template, then find the old one to remove is downright archaic.
Looking forward to seeing this improved (hopefully)!

Tautvidas: We use around 6 templates.
We create them for specific parts of the business. However the templates aren't really handy.
The problem we have is when we add new products or blogs the styling is lost or changed.

This is a must have. The way to edit templates currently is extremely tedious and cumberstone

The procedure to manage my templates is very complicated:
- generate a new email
- choose the template for this email
- edit the email
- save the email as new template
- go back one page
- identifythe correct version (not easy!)
- delete the generated mail
It would be great to simply open, edit and save an existing template!

To edit a template, we need to create a new mail, then select my template to edit it. But when I saved the template I need to remember then name I have done to erase it and avoid duplicates ! It will be more easier to access directly to the templates for editing, erase templates...

To be able to create, import and export Templates in a separate section (like forms).
Now, you have to create a new newslette and create the template there. You can only export a template from there too (It would be amazing to do it when you are previewing the template).
