Bounce mails handling own server
Mario Guagliardo
When sending with your own server, you can catch the bounce mails but not process them automatically.
There used to be an external plug-in, but this is no longer being developed. (https://wordpress.org/plugins/bounce-handler-mailpoet/)
Couldn't this be developed by default in MailPoet, after all not everyone uses the Mailpoet sending service

I've been waiting for this for years since this external plugin stopped working and its development was discontinued. I collect the bounces in an email folder and use a Python script to output the clearly invalid email addresses in order to mark and delete them by importing them into MailPoet. But that is very cumbersome.

Automated bounce handling is such an obvious requirement for email software that it's hard to believe users must rally support for its inclusion. A prior-working plugin exists to easily reverse-engineer and implement, too!
It seems Mailpoet wants to sell an unnecessary sending service instead of building software for SMTP sends. No other explanation makes sense.
Stop trying to be Mailchimp or Constant Contact. Instead, build the best, most affordable Wordpress email software system. That requires automated bounce handling.
