Trigger link click automation

Hi there,
I’d like to request support for “clicked link” triggers in automation emails, not just in single sends.
Right now, the “clicked link” trigger only works in Newsletters. Expanding this to automation emails would be a big improvement.
Example use case: In a welcome series, the first email could prompt subscribers to click a link based on their interest, such as courses, digital products, or retail campaigns. When they click, they would be automatically placed into the audience for those sends. This way, subscribers receive content that matches their interests instead of every email by default.
Thank you!

It is very important that you can activate and use IF/ELSE depending on the link you clicked in the same automation, thank you

Hey everyone, thank you for the great feedback!
Earlier in 2024 we have added a new trigger "Subscriber clicks a link in email" that may help you start automating further emails based on user actions.
At the moment you will be able to automate based on link clicks in Newsletter emails, and send follow-up emails, add/remove tags, email lists, change subscription status.
I understand this will limit what you can use it for, and it's on our minds to add support for other email types as well to enable use cases, like the example Lee shared - users choosing the type of content or products they're interested in.

Hiya Tautvidas (Tanya here, former A11n from customer education and Happiness, hope you're well!)
Nevermind XD apparently there's a delay in the system recognizing the links. I'd delete this comment, but there's no option for that.
I'm running into an issue where the Trigger to use a link in a Newsletter email that is scheduled (but not yet sent) isn't working. It says there are no links: https://cln.sh/vPgYQ3dj when there are links in the email. The source email is not part of an Automation. If I choose an email that has already sent, the link selection option works as expected. Is this behaviour expected or a bug? It seems odd to have to send the email before setting up the Automation trigger, as some people may click the link before the Automation is created. TIA 💖

This feels like a critical feature.

Why can we not do this? Links in automation generated emails are already tracked within mailpoet, but you can't use clicks on those links anywhere to trigger anything, tag anything, do anything.

This would be the shit!

Yes! I need to be able to send a new email in response to a specific link click in the last email.
For example, are you interested in Men's, Women's, Athleisure, or Formal? Each of these 4 things would be a different link to track, and to tag and send specific email sequences on.

Please please please allow us to do that. It is so vital to any automation flow ! I can't believe it's not possible yet !
