Unify WordPress Account Confirmation Email/2-step with MailPoet subscription confirmation.

To take advantage of both Wordpress "account" confirmation and MailPoet email confirmation, there should be a way to combine these two. As it is, our testers were confused when they got one email from WordPress asking them to confirm their account and then a second from MailPoet asking them to opt-in to the subscriptions.

My case might be a bit complex. The website is carsandcoffeeevents.com and I have 3 use cases. #1 - When someone registers to contribute an event to the calendar, we use Registration Magic Pro to create a Wordpress "Contributor" account. Upon submission of the form, they're redirected to the event calendar dashboard and signed up to our email list. #2 - When someone registers to add a Classified advertisement, we also use Registration Magic Pro, but they're sent to the classified's dashboard page after sign-up and are assigned the Wordpress "Subscriber" role and signed up to our email list. #3 - A User just subscribes to our newsletter.

Hello Vin Keane, thank you for the feedback!
Indeed, it sounds like it would offer a much cleaner user experience.
Could you please help us better understand your specific use case?
E.g. do you currently use the default WordPress User registration flow, or any Membership plugins, or a plugin like "User Verification" (https://wordpress.org/plugins/user-verification/) to ask users confirm their accounts via email?
On your site, why do your users register an account? E.g. to participate in discussions, get membership benefits like training courses, something different?
I recognize this is a public forum, so if you would prefer - I'm happy to exchange privately over email too.

Same here. We have a membership plugin that integrates user confirmation. WordPress' users have already given their consent for newsletter by singing up for membership. But they have to confirm their subscription to the newsletter another time.
We cannot switch off MailPoet confirmation entirely, as we also have a newsletter for non-registered (non-members) users.
MailPoet does not control how users are added to WordPress or have been registered (3rd party plugins, API, Zapier etc.). Thus, MailPoet cannot control and require their consent or confirmation.

Hi Sofia: thanks for the helpful feedback!
It would be really helpful to hear more about your use case.
Could you please share which membership plugin do you currently use?
And are newsletters a core part of your membership program (e.g. training materials delivered via drip emails over time, and not receiving those emails would make the membership unusable), or a nice-to-have addon to the existing program?
I recognize this is a public forum, so if you would prefer - I'm happy to exchange privately over email too.
Thanks!

Tautvidas: Hi, this is my use case.
I use Ultimate Member plugin for paid online video courses. I use MailPoet in two ways for (1) update notifications and special offers for my paid members and (2) free e-mail courses for non-members as lead magnet.
(1) I have a registration form by Ultimate Member plugin, allowing paid user to register with my site, confirm their e-mail address and agree to the update notifications regarding their membership. Upon purchase, a WordPress user is created on my website. He is added to a special MailPoet list for membership updates. No additional e-mail confirmation is needed here.
(2) I have another MailPoet list for free e-mail course for visitors (non-members), where e-mail confirmation (double opt-in) is required.
Currently, I have double-opt-in in MailPoet enabled. This works for the case (2) as desired.
But in case (1) the paid users must confirm their e-mail address two times. They confirm their e-mail with Ultimate Member while purchasing and then get another confirmation e-mail from MailPoet.
This second confirmation e-mail from MailPoet in case (1) is obsolete. I hope it is clear now. Thank you!
