Unsubscribe e-mail alert

Is this happening soon? It is really needed and something competitors like Mailchimp offer. I have had multiple clients request this.

Is there any plan to incorporate this? It is really needed. Something basic that most competitors like Mailchimp do.

I agree, this is much needed. I have a client who likes to get an alert when someone unsubscribes to know if a prospect may no longer be interested, so the CRM could also be updated, etc.

This feature was in the previous version of MailPoet. I would like it back. And also the ability to order unsubscribe list by the unsubscribe date. Only option is the subscribe on date.

Hi Daniel Iribarren, thanks for the suggestion!
I'd like to learn more about your use case.
Would you like to know who unsubscribes mostly for your own curiosity, or is there a specific business workflow you would like to support? E.g. trying to re-engage them via other means, removing the contacts from other business communications, or something else specific to your organization?
Daniel Iribarren
Hello Tautvidas,
I'm an estate agent, so I only use Mailpoet to send new listings to potential customers registered in my database. Following the e-mail, I monitor the results during a few days, but can't spend my time to this.
Sometimes the clients click on the unsubscribe link weeks later, because they bought something else or because they want to buy in another place. In this case, nothing tells me that they want to unsuscribe.
If the unsubscribe action generates an automatic e-mail to me, I can avoid sending them accidentally unwanted listings. Unfortunately, it doesn't.
I'm sure lots of users would be interested in receiving alerts after sending an e-mail through MailPoet.
Feel free to come back to me if necessary.
Regards,
Daniel

Daniel Iribarren: Thank you for the additional context, it's really helpful to better understand your needs.
If I can rephrase, could you please confirm if I understood your current workflow correctly?
- Your clients subscribe to new listing emails you periodically send out with MailPoet
- Some clients complete a property purchase, reached their goal, and choose to unsubscribe from future new listing emails
- Currently, when a client unsubscribes, you manually remove them from your database to avoid accidentally emailing them unwanted new listings.
If the above seems correct, when your clients click "Unsubscribe", MailPoet will automatically mark them as "Unsubscribed". And as long as they are marked "Unsubscribed" - MailPoet will not send them any of your emails, without you having to take any manual action.
Does it sound like this could work for your workflow? Or is there something else I'm glancing over, e.g. if you have to remove contacts from multiple separate systems? e.g. from MailPoet and a CRM tool.
Daniel Iribarren
Tautvidas: Hello,
You're right. I have to remove contacts from multiple separate systems :
- MailPoet
- our CRM software
I would like to avoid checking in MailPoet if the clients unsubscribed, or not. That's why an e-mail sent by MailPoet to me, every time a client unsubscribes would be THE good solution.
I hope it helps.
Tautvidas
Daniel Iribarren: Got it!
What's the name of the CRM software you currently use?
We could see if a CRM integration could be an alternative path as well.
Daniel Iribarren
Tautvidas: It's not. It's a custom software. Moreover, I think that the simple generic e-mail could be interesting various people, more than a rigid solution dedicated to an automatic unsubscribe operation, don't you ?
Tautvidas
Daniel Iribarren: Got it! I was curious, as for more popular CRM tools direct or integrations via automation services like Zapier or IFFFT may have been an option, but that's indeed more difficult for custom software.
Thank you so much for sharing your use case. Unfortunately, I can't propose a better short-term workaround, but you've helped me better understand your need and use case for when we're ready to look into this.

Tautvidas: This functionality its also interesting , now its not uncommon to have more than one solution to manage communications and so far Im able to sync with mailpoet but the only lose ends its when a customers unsubscribed from a list on Mailpoet, maybe a trigger on the automation would be great to be able to send an email and be able to be read with some other endpoint.

This is an excellent suggestion. In addition, it would be nice if we could export the statistics in csv or other formats.
